Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 304 - Colour Combo

Hi Everyone,

Today I'm a Surprise Sweetie over at Cupcake Inspirations to give my take on the 304 challenge which is based on a colour combo of cream, berry & grass. Here's the inspiration photo...cute hey...love those bunnies!

My result:

The patterned paper used is from Anna Griffin Hope Chest 6x6 pad trim down to about 4 by 5 3/4 inches. I then adhered that to a top folding berry coloured cardstock that was about 1/4 inch wider. The sentiment is from Neat & Tangled and is inked using Ranger Archival in Plum. I recently bought some paper butterflies from Paper World and they fitted perfectly since it was vanilla in colour. I tinted the edges using a YG67 Copic Ciao marker. To complete the card I added some grassy coloured enamel dots.

Hope you'll liked the card...Enjoy the weekend all!

Papersmooches SPARKS Challenge - Anything goes

Hi Everyone,

I recently received one of my orders from overseas that contained Papersmooches goodies. We had a postal strike starting in August last year that has after effects even now...I'm still waiting for packages...4months now! Ridiculous!

Anyway onto my card...Papersmooches are having their anything goes SPARKS challenge and you can find the details HERE.

I stamped the image with Hero Arts Wet Cement and then coloured it using the warm greys from Copic (W1, W3, W5) and some purples. The sentiment was stamped using Wet Cement and Iris. The panel was then complete by adding washi tape, blue enamel dots, blue highlighting using a gel pen and stitching using Old Paper Distress marker. On a top folding grey cardstock base I added a layer of handmade paper, this gave me some texture to the card. I then glued down the panel and added some glitter using Spica Clear on the flowers.

Remember you don't need a lot of copic colours to create an awesome card. This used 6 colours in total though with some clever blending you could do it with 4.

Hope you liked the card!

Papersmooches SPARKS Challenge - Picture Perfect

Hi Everyone,

I have one more entry to the PS Sparks challenge!

Picture inspiration is:

My result:

Now I must apologise for the low quality of the picture (my fiancée took it out for me because I'm not at home this weekend)...I will definitely put up something clear when I get back.

This is a project I've been working on for a while, it's somewhat incomplete as I still got to find 2 pictures to put into it...hence the empty cubicles. The wooden blank is about 400mm x 400mm and is painted in a blue green chalk paint. For the cubicles, I added some mosaic tiles in one and woodgrained white paint in the other. For the flower, I added through some texture paste through a random stencil and distressed the colour green for the stalk area. I added some glitter as well to it.

On the bottom left cubicle the colours of the green canvas was recreated using green cardstock that was diecut with Spellbinders Labels Fifteen. I then used green chalk ink and stamped the leaves from Papersmooches Botanicals 2 stamp set. The sentiments are from PS Pretty Phrases.

Not sure if you can see but I added white butterflies above the flower from Clearly Besotted's Elegant Butterflies stamp set.

To finish the layout I added the wooden die cuts that were coloured black.

Hope you liked it!

Papersmooches SPARKS Challenge - Picture Perfect

Hey Guys,

It's that time...the PS Sparks challenge! Head on over to their blog to find out all the details.

Picture inspiration for month of March is:

My result of cuteness:

I found an item in the picture that I wanted to focus on and that was the small green canvas with the Moroccan type tiling look. The background of the card is stencilled using TH Latticework (perfect match in my opinion) with Distress Inks Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint. I diecut a distressed label onto which I white heat embossed the sentiment from Papersmooches Bold Buzzwords. The bear is copic coloured using the greys (C2, C3, C5, C7 for the body and W1 for the mouth) and is from PS Chubby Chum Pals. I finished the card off with some flowers, washi tape and enamel dots.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 300 - Confetti Inspiration

Hi Everyone,

Cupcake Inspirations are celebrating their 300th Challenge...they're giving away awesome prizes for their celebration challenge which cover 3 inspirational images. This is the third challenge entry.

This is their image and I absolutely love the vanilla setting with the pop of tiny colour all over:

My result:

I created a shaker card and I must say I struggled...I don't make these often enough (probably once before...it didn't even work cause I didn't have enough height of the foam). These type of cards take time but can be very rewarding and I'm glad to say it worked out this time.

I die cut a rectangle opening on my patterned paper and a rectangle border using my Bigshot machine. The border was covered in polka dot washi tape. The shaker was created by adding acetate sheet and then forming the compartment using foam. I filled it with sequins and little confetti flowers which I die cut using my Olba hand punch tool. I chose about 5 bright cardstock colours for the confetti. I adhered everything together and then mounted the panel onto a top folding green cardstock. I added the image and sentiment from Mama Elephant In my Heart stamp set. I copic coloured the little girl with pink, red and blue green for her shoes while the sentiment was white heat embossed on pink cardstock. To complete the card I added some enamel dots.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 300 - Color Inspiration

Morning Friends,

Cupcake Inspirations are celebrating their 300th Challenge...they're giving away awesome prizes for their celebration challenge which cover 3 inspirational images. This is my entry to the second challenge.

Their picture is:

My result:

I was able to recreate the table setting of the cupcakes after realising that my Cupcake Cutie stamp set from MFT had the perfect image. I copic coloured the image and added the sentiment from Waffle Flower Bowtiful stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. To finish the card off I mounted the panel card onto a blue cardstock base, I added sequins, enamel dots, washi tape and white enamel accents to the cream on the cupcakes :)

Hope you'll enjoyed my take on the image!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 300 - Sparkle Inspiration

Hey Everyone,

Cupcake Inspirations are celebrating their 300th Challenge...they're giving away awesome prizes for their celebration challenge which cover 3 inspirational images. Be sure to check my next two posts that are entries as well.

The first challenge is Sparkle and is based on the following photo...

My take on the picture:

I replicated the colors of the cupcake onto my card by using patterned paper and a chevron stenciled background in Peacock Feathers. I added a white ribbon which was coloured with Walnut Stain to give the same chocolate bow. The sentiment is from September Skies by Heidi Swapp.

Onto my sparkle... I had a plain paper butterfly which I covered in Perfect Medium and then dusted it with Perfect Pearls Sunflower Sparkle. I set it by spraying the entire butterfly with a light coat of water and left it to dry. I lastly added gold enamel dots and a few diamanté to finish the card.
