Papersmooches SPARKS Challenge - Picture Perfect

Hi Everyone,

I have one more entry to the PS Sparks challenge!

Picture inspiration is:

My result:

Now I must apologise for the low quality of the picture (my fiancée took it out for me because I'm not at home this weekend)...I will definitely put up something clear when I get back.

This is a project I've been working on for a while, it's somewhat incomplete as I still got to find 2 pictures to put into it...hence the empty cubicles. The wooden blank is about 400mm x 400mm and is painted in a blue green chalk paint. For the cubicles, I added some mosaic tiles in one and woodgrained white paint in the other. For the flower, I added through some texture paste through a random stencil and distressed the colour green for the stalk area. I added some glitter as well to it.

On the bottom left cubicle the colours of the green canvas was recreated using green cardstock that was diecut with Spellbinders Labels Fifteen. I then used green chalk ink and stamped the leaves from Papersmooches Botanicals 2 stamp set. The sentiments are from PS Pretty Phrases.

Not sure if you can see but I added white butterflies above the flower from Clearly Besotted's Elegant Butterflies stamp set.

To finish the layout I added the wooden die cuts that were coloured black.

Hope you liked it!

PS SPARKS Challenge Entry 3 - Celebrate Card

Back again with my third entry into Papersmooches SPARKS challenge. The inspirational challenge this week is based on the following picture:

and my result...

The panel is an orange patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Bright Side and measures 3 3/4 by 4 1/2 inches. I white heat embossed the "celebrate" sentiment from PS Pretty Phrases. For the flowers  I used Distress ink Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac, Hero Arts Passion Flower and stamped the two flower images from PS Botanicals 2 repeatedly onto some white cardstock. I cut these out and adhered them using glue and/or foam squares.

I added my panel using foam squares onto a top folded white cardstock base measuring 1/16inch wider. To finish off I added some enamel dots from Studio Calico.

NOTE: I'm also entering this into SSS Work it Wednesday Aug 2014.

Papersmooches - Peace...

I'm getting use to this masking technique and I'm liking the results of my one layer creations...

I used a natural cardstock base measuring 4 by 5 1/2 inches and masked off the edges about 3/8 inch. I found myself grabbing my Hero Arts inks in Pumpkin Pie and Just Rust. I stamped a flower image and the leaves from PS Botanicals 2 set. I heat embossed the sentiment from PS Pretty Phrases using Ranger super fine white embossing powder. I removed all the masking, drew in some borders and coloured the flowers using a white gel roller.

Note: I'm entering this into Inspiration Emporium September Monthly Challenge 2014.

Pretty Pink Posh Cutting Edge Blog Hop - Card 3

Hey Guys,

It's my last entry into Pretty Pink Posh Cutting Edge Blog Hop!

I started with a panel cut to 4 by 5 1/2 inches of woodgrain patterned paper from Heidi Grace Day Dream paper pad. I used my Spellbinders Pagemaps Whimsy die set that had 2 sizes of clouds and using my Bigshot I die cut the clouds on the paper. I also die cut some out on a separate cardstock to use as my stencil for adding white embossing paste...this was cool cause it looked like real clouds!! The sentiment was from Papersmooches Pretty Phrases stamp set which I inked onto white cardstock (cut into a flag tag) using Distress Ink Peacock Feathers. I added some stitching using a blue pen and adhered the tag onto the panel using foam squares.

To assemble the entire card, I cut out 3 panels of blue cardstock to 4 by 5 1/2 inches to match the paper. I side folded a sheet of acetate that was cut to 1/16" (all round) larger than the panels...I would suggest doing this to 1/8 or even 1/4" rather as mine was an oversight. I turned the die cut clouds into a "shaker" by adding some sequins and confetti which I punched out. I then adhered the rest of the panels and to finish the card I cut out 2 red stamped hearts, adhered them and added Glossy Accents by Ranger. Note: I added shadows to the clouds using a Copic Ciao marker in the colour W-1.

I must say that taking part of blog hops or challenges is quite fun...gets you thinking and creating!! Love it!

SYS2 Card 1

I created this card using neenah solar white cardstock folded down to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 as a base. For the panel I used the same cardstock, powered it first and then white embossed several times an image from Paper Smooches Botanicals 2 stamp set.
I took that same image and then using Walnut Stain Distress ink pad, I stamped dark shadows in the background. Ink will get onto the white embossing since no masking was done on the image... I'll sort that out at the end. Next using Distress ink pad in Vintage Photo and a mini blending tool, I started distressing the panel from outside towards the centre till the entire panel is covered. Thereafter I used Walnut Stain to darken the edges using the same technique.
I stamped in Versafine Black Onyx ink a sentiment from Paper Smooches Pretty Phrases stamp set. I then mounted the panel onto the base using foam squares and added stitching to the edges using a brown fineliner pen.
I used a wet tissue to gently wipe away the excess ink on the embossing to expose the bright white colour of the image.
Hope you liked the card for today.
